Artis Quartet of Vienna

When the gems of Vienna become one , the heart is filled with a noble air that purifies the soul.

The string quartet, “the Artis Quartet of Vienna,” was created in 1980, when all four members were still students at the University of Music in Vienna. While still students, they won many prizes at various competitions throughout Europe. From 1985, they began performing professionally around the world and in 1988, joined the Gesellshaft Der Musikfreunde In Wien (a.k.a. Wiener Musikverein) and has since performed regularly in concerts held by them. In recent years, the Artis Quartet has been invited to various musical events beginning in Salzburg, classical music festivals worldwide, and also the Carnegie Hall. They have recorded and released over 20 CDs, and continue to entertain. In 2000, they received the prestigious German, Echo-Klassic Prize for the best chamber music of the year in the 20th century category.
